So, will they have to register their wheelchair with the local LE then, too? Are we getting more and more ridiculous, or is it just me?
what protections are written in to protect the registrant from harassment, emotional abuse, isolation etc. ? Ultimately, this will regulate and limit the compassion and care the registrant will receive – which is a fundamental right. The nursing home is now turned into a punishing entity.
Again, another example how the sex offender registry is a sanctioned form of bullying and harassment, rather than a tool to protect society’s children.
Scary stuff. I’ve always figured that many of the registrants who have failed to register can’t do so because they can’t get out of bed, are in a longterm care facility. 🙂 And now these are the people we are afraid of?
Actually, if they want to do this, they should at minimum provide NICE longterm care facilities that specialize in handling registrants — because what they are doing will serve to have registrants denied entry to any facility.
Come on!!! This can’t be real; right? This has got to be someones warped sense of humor; right?
While “they” are on the job of denying all of the former sex offenders rights why don’t they allow us not to pay any tax of any kind or fees by city, county or state since we won’t be able to use any of the advantages that our fees and taxes pay for?
I say start our own low cost nursing homes and then deny the rest of the public from living there if they have ever worked for the government.
This is a wonderful idea! I used to work in healthcare and in a SNF. We had people who did time for drugs, prostitution, manslaughter and we even had an MD who was arrested for murdering his wife, but he plead no contest to manslaughter and kept his Medical License. I think this is out of hand. We can have murderers in these facilities, but now they are more concerned for sex offenders.
